Types of Massage Available

If you are unsure about the suitability of any of the treatments below, or have never had massage or Reiki before and would like to know more, then please contact me at the e-mail address above and I'll be happy to discuss options with you.

Holistic Massage:

Holistic Massage treats a person's emotional and mental wellbeing, as well as their physical one.  Everything about the client is taken into account at the time of treatment, from their medical history and any current ailments, to their lifestyle, sleep patterns, emotional mood and even how they feel at that very moment in the treatment room.  All of this background makes an individual, and it is the individual that is being treated.  There are no routines, only the right massage for the client on the day and hour of the treatment.

Deep Tissue Massage:

For clients who like deeper work, and particularly for those who regularly play sport, Deep Tissue Massage is an effective form of therapy.  This massage works deeply into muscles to remove knots and tension.  It is done with an Holistic touch, working slowly into the muscles for the maximum effect.  Unlike many deep tissue treatments, it is unlikely to leave a client feeling bruised or sore the following day.

Pulsing:

This form of body work is done with the client wearing loose clothing.  Every section of the body is rocked, vibrated or stretched, causing movement throughout.  It is a very deep treatment, as it affects bones and organs as well as muscles, but is pain free and non-invasive.  It is excellent for anyone who wants a deep treatment, particularly for creative people who are feeling blocked, or for anyone who likes deep massage and is willing to try a new form of it.  Pulsing sessions are 1 hour long.  For more information on Pulsing and its benefits, please got to the Links page on this site.

Massage for Pregnancy:

Available after the first 3 months of pregnancy, this massage can help to relieve tension in the back and pelvis as well as provide some relaxation for mums-to-be.  Treatments are a minimum of 1 hour.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage:

A very relaxing, light technique which helps to encourage the action of the lymphatic system, removing excess water from the body.  Particularly good post-operation, or for anyone in the last trimester of pregnancy.  Treatments are 1 hour.

Reiki:

Energy work done with the client fully clothed.  This treatment works to balance chakras, as well as focussing on problem areas of the body.  It is suitable for everyone, as it is done by the therapist gently laying their hands on certain places on the body.  Clients leave feeling relaxed and refreshed.
